Another Chilly Pre-Wedding Shoot at Hailes Castle

So, third Saturday in a row that I find myself out shooting in what can only be described as mid-winter weather conditions, despite the fact that we’re now in spring. Got to be honest, today is just about the coldest I’ve ever felt doing a shoot, and I’m not usually one to complain. And if you think it’s bad for me, spare a thought for Alana & Scott – can’t be easy trying to ignore the conditions and put on a brave face for the camera while I run through the shots, so thanks guys, hope you like what we got today in the time that we had.

We’re at Hailes Castle today over in East Lothian. Despite once living only a few miles down the road from here at one point, I never even knew it existed. Actually, it’s existed since the 13th century but hasn’t been lived in, according to Historic Scotland, since 1567; and it looks that way too, which makes it all the better for photography of course, all ruins and stuff, and cold! And, only accessible by a single track road for about a mile – heaven only knows what you would do if you were confronted by a car coming in the opposite direction – er, “I’ll just reverse for a mile back up the road for you!”

Guys, I hope you enjoyed the shoot, despite the awful conditions. Here’s just a few of my fave images from the day.

Please feel free to leave a comment or two at the bottom if you wish.
