Glasgow Portrait Photography:
Leigh & Damien’s Pre-Wedding Shoot at Mugdock Country Park

Early start today to head over to Mugdock Country Park for Leigh & Damien’s pre-wedding shoot. And what a beautiful morning it was – hazy sunshine, warm, perfect for photography.

The guys are getting married in October in Ayrshire and I’m really looking forward to photographing their big day. But today was all about the pre-wedding shoot, getting used to me (takes a long time so people tell me…only joking), trying out a few moves and generally just getting to know each other a bit better which really does help on the wedding day itself. In fact, that’s probably one of the comments I receive most on the wedding day, that the couple don’t feel so conscious about having their photographs taken as they in effect have already done it all before. All my wedding packages include a pre-wedding shoot so I would really encourage everyone to take advantage of theirs.

Mugdock Country Park is huge, or at least it felt that way to me. And I’m sure we only covered a small part of it today as we walked around looking for locations to shoot. Leigh & Damien, I must apologise for my continual search for a dark location (bet you were sick of me) – I can’t help it, I just love doing some backlit flash photography for a bit of variety and this really does need a dark location to work well. Still, we found it in the end in amongst all the trees and I really love the images from the part of the shoot. Damien, I also do think we pulled off the “catalogue man” shot in the end – I can just see it gracing the pages of the Next Directory.

Really enjoyed this shoot and here’s some of my favourite images from the day – the whole set can be found in the online gallery (password required).
