Second wedding of the weekend and I’m back in South Queensferry, this time for Lisa & Howard’s big day. I know I’ve said it before many a time, but I love shooting in and around South Queensferry and, lest we not forget, their fantastic venue for the wedding – Orocco Pier. I always find the staff here really great to work with; makes such a big difference to the end result photographically speaking – sadly, I’m afraid that cannot be said for all venues :-(.
Anyway, back to today and what a start to the day as I kicked off at Lisa’s house for the bridal prep shots – I think I was the first to spot the car that Howard had arranged (which, by the way Lisa knew nothing about). I’m not quite sure how I would describe it other than I had never seen the like before – kind of a cross between a vintage Beauford and a stretched limo – looked great anyway, and brought a few neighbours out of their homes for a peek too.
Fairly lucky with the weather today – a bit cloudy and overcast all day but thankfully the rain held off until we had pretty much finished the all important bride & groom shots. As a photographer, I’ll always have a plan B should it rain on the day but, in my opinion, weddings in South Queensferry really do benefit from being able to get “out and about” for a bit and get some shots against the stunning backdrops.
Lisa & Howard, you both looked great today as, of course, did the girls (well, let’s be honest, everyone did in fact). Thank you for choosing me to photograph your day. Here’s a few of my favourite images. The full set can be found in the online gallery (password required).
