Cold & Gold:
A Beautiful Autumnal Wedding at the Tinto House Hotel

Second of three weddings in the space of five days for me today, which is a touch unusual at this time of year I guess, as usually it’s getting a bit quieter on the wedding front around now. Not that I’m complaining though! Today I’m with Ellie & Kenny down at Tinto House in Symington for their big day and let me tell you it’s freezing outside…but sunny though with it – give me that combination any day over being a touch warmer but wet and miserable.

Tinto House is, to quote their website “nestled in five acres of stunning gardens within the breathtaking countryside of the Scottish Borders, the perfect setting for creating memories to last a lifetime. Built in 1914 — with a respectful eye toward the grandeur and charm of the past, and already looking forward to the modern age that was approaching — Tinto House contains 39 en-suite bedrooms, including an elegant bridal suite, and a range of beautiful function rooms for your wedding ceremony and reception.” And I’m not going to argue with that. Beautiful surroundings we’ve got here and made all the better by the low sun creating some great light behind the trees. But what I also love about this place is the many quirky little passageways that are scattered throughout, some of which you would normally just walk straight past, but are perfect for creating some low key images which I just love.

The great thing about shooting a wedding at this time of year are the fantastic colours in the sky provided by the low sun (assuming it’s not cloudy of course). Providing you can get out and about before the sun goes down, you’re normally rewarded with some wonderful yellows, oranges and reds, and that was certainly the case today as you can see from some of the images below – just love it!

Guys, thank you for choosing me to photograph your wedding day and for going out into the freezing cold to get some shots before we lost the light. Here’s some of my favourite images from the day and, as a special bonus today, I’ve also done a wee slideshow as well that has a few extra images (the things I do for you lovely people :-)) – hope you like.

If you enjoyed this post and images, then why not add a comment or two below – it’s very much appreciated. Even better, why not push the boat out and give me a “Like” on my Facebook page in order to keep advised of all my new weddings & pre-wedding shoots and random other stuff. And don’t forget, if you want to share this post, you’ll find a whole host of social media buttons below just for this purpose.
