Being a bit of a lager lover myself, being asked to meet up with the guys for some pre-ceremony shots in their local pub is just a little bit torturous…but needs must, once more into the breach and all that. Making do with my bottles of the finest water that Tesco had to offer, into the pub, the Fox and Hounds in Houston, I ventured, to find the guys already in full flow. And thus began today’s wedding with Michelle & Damien, starting here, then off to Michelle’s parents house, then the ceremony at St. Aidan’s Church before finally heading to the Lynnhurst Hotel for the reception…let it never be said that I don’t put in the miles on a wedding day!
Lady luck is smiling on us today with the weather – there’s a hint of rain the air but thankfully nothing materialises…better than the last time I was here in June when it chucked it down all day. And, heavens above, did we not only go and have a brief appearance by the sun as well, albeit “brief” being the key word here.
There’s a real easy going feeling about today’s proceedings, from kicking off in the pub, the ceremony at St. Aidan’s, right up to some of the most laid back and humorous speeches I’ve heard this year…all good stuff and hugely enjoyed by all, and that includes me as well – just because I have a job to do doesn’t mean that you can’t get caught up in the celebration and emotion of the day as well.
