“New Lanark Mill” Wedding : Colette & John

Onwards and upwards guys, and today I’m delighted to be featuring my first wedding of November last year, on my first ever visit to the New Lanark Mill Hotel, for Colette & John’s big day … and what a fabulous venue it was too!

I’m very much an “in the moment” shooter come the wedding day but, of course, that then does rely heavily on there being plenty of “moments” to shoot … sometimes you have to work harder than others to find them :-). But not this day LOL. Honestly, I could’ve probably put in double the usual number of shots into the blog post there were that many fabulous moments right throughout the day … that really is my kind of wedding day … if Carlsberg did weddings and all that!

The guys were very kind enough to send me some nice words about the day, that probably sums things up better than I can …

Choosing a photographer to capture our big day seemed like a daunting task at first. After much searching online and scrolling on social media we came across Mike. His candid style is exactly what we were after. The photos were an important part of the day but they shouldn’t consume the day and when it came to the wedding we barely noticed Mike was there. Even the official photos after the service were effortless, Mike was in touch a few times before the big day keeping us informed of how he would operate and to make sure the photography would have minimal impact on the running of the day (running on time is important to brides apparently). We received a great after service, quick turn around on us being able to access our edited images and help planning our album of which is highly customisable. You can see this is more than just about taking photos for Mike and his passion for photography shows through in the way his shots are composed and your album planned out to best tell the story of your day. Thank you again from Colette and myself.

Colette & John, 14th May 2020

Thanks guys! You probably know by now that my shooting style on the day is very documentary, very observational, capturing real stuff not “fake” – in fact, I’m at my happiest when everyone actually forgets I’m there!!! But that’s a good thing :-). Anyway, no more waffle … as usual, I’ll let the pictures tell the story.

Colette & John, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous day! Here’s a few of my favourite shots which I hope you all like. Oh, and stay safe people :-).

Looking for some “Ninja Style” Wedding Photography?

Despite the current lockdown guys, I am very much still working so, if you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me…it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot! But, I will always make time for a very small number of family group shots and also, a short bride & groom shoot and here, it’s my aim to provide you with some truly fabulous pictures :-). To know more about my wedding day approach to how I shoot weddings, just click here.

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2021, 2022 & even 2023!…but I do have a very limited number of “off peak” 2020 dates still available too (though not many Saturdays!)

Full day coverage collections start at £1500…but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).

Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).

Mike :-).
