“The Haining” Wedding : Lucie & James

Continuing with blogging my amazing 2019 wedding season (is there a “season” these days guys, seems like we have weddings all year round now) with my second trip down to Selkirk, The Haining to be exact, for Lucie & James’ fabulous day back in August.

When I say “fabulous” day, I don’t mean that lightly. You know those parties that you hear about where you say to yourself afterwards “I wish I was there” … well, it was a bit like that, only I “was” there!

Slight adjustment to my usual schedule as the guys had organised fireworks for the evening so had asked me to cover those and forego the usual bridal prep stuff that I do, albeit I did still arrive for the latter stages anyway before the short hop to Lilliesleaf Kirk for the ceremony … oh, and gorgeous weather too btw :-).

One of the advantages of staying a wee bit later to cover fireworks is, of course, that I get to shoot more of the evening dancing shots. Now, this can go one of two ways … it can, on occasion, once the intial first few dances have ended, become fairly quiet in the early part of the evening, with not too much to shoot. Or, it can go the way of Lucie & James’ day LOL and just take off from the get go … I mean, just look at some of those images, and there’s me dodging and weaving in amongst everyone to get the shots – I’ve often thought I must look like some crazy lunatic the way I go about things sometimes – I’m sure I must have been captured in “full flow” by a videographer from time to time!!!

Anyway, enough from me for now. You guys know that I’m very much an “in the background” kind of guy, shooting “momets” and telling stories very much as I see them … and boy were there plenty this very day!

Lucie & James, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous day – you guys rocked it! Here’s a few of my favourite shots which I hope you all like.

Looking for some “Ninja Style” Wedding Photography?

If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me…it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot! But, I will always make time for a very small number of family group shots and also, a short bride & groom shoot and here, it’s my aim to provide you with some truly fabulous pictures :-). To know more about my wedding day approach to how I shoot weddings, just click here.

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2021, 2022 & even 2023!…but I do have a very limited number of “off peak” 2020 dates still available too (though not many Saturdays!)

Full day coverage collections start at £1500…but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).

And, if you’re reading this post around the time of publication (as opposed to some future date LOL), then I still have one of my 50% discount packages still available where you can save up to £1250 – full details here.

Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).

Mike :-).
