Oh man, I’m the first to admit that I’m not a “pet person”, but even I couldn’t fail to be bowled over by the scene that greeted me upon arriving at The Principal on Edinburgh’s George Street back in March. Yep, puppies…lots of them…awww. Sadly, my lack of knowledge of man’s best friend permits me from telling you exactly what breed they were, but I’m sure most of you can fill in the blanks :-).
Jodie & Andrew’s big day was to be my 6th wedding of the year and my 361st overall…woahh…have I really shot that many!!! Well I guess the figures don’t lie. I love it at the Principal. When I first came here back in the day it was called The George Hotel and now, I believe, it’s changed it’s name yet again – well I’ll find out in a few weeks as I’m back there again. Anyway, whatever the name, you can’t fail to be impressed by the grandeur of the place, with a totally jaw dropping room for the reception…check out that chandelier!!! And, being slap bang in the centre of Edinburgh, you have all that fabulous urban backdrop on your doorstep too.
The guy’s day was a very intimate affair, with just a handful of close family and friends, resulting in a very relaxed vibe that I totally loved, as it gave me a chance to do what I love best…just wandering round capturing the essence of the day, with just a sprinkling of group shots and a very short bride & groom shoot after dinner…just the way I like it to be…no need to be away from the party for too long :-).

Looking for some “Ninja Style” Wedding Photography?
I love shooting weddings and, for the most part, I adopt a “ninja style” low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me…it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot! But, I will always make time for those important family group shots and also, a relaxed bride & groom shoot and here, it’s my aim to provide you with some truly amazing pictures…not just your standard stuff :-).
