It happens every year and every year I keep on making the same stupid mistake…yes folks, I’m talking about that first wedding of the year where it’s pretty damn hot – the one in which yet again I don’t think to use sun cream and end up burnt to a crisp by the end of the day. I’m kind of lulled into a false sense of security by the somewhat colder weddings of late winter and early spring and then, boom, you get the hot one!
My red head aside, what a fabulous day I had shooting Joanne & Chris’ wedding day at The Parsonage last month, one of my favourite venues. This place has it all, fabulous grounds, a fountain (which I always must use :-)), and some grand indoor locations should the weather not play ball…not a problem this day though!
And, here’s the thing, and I say this every time – if I ever get asked by couples tips on making their wedding photographs look better, my answer isn’t to practice a pose or a smile or a moody look, it’s this…just enjoy the day and have a bloody good time (pardon my language), as it’s my firm belief that your pictures will look amazing if that’s how you feel on the inside :-). And, from where I stood, the guys did just that!
