Documentary Wedding Photography Scotland

Let's face it, there are a lot of different wedding photography styles out there ... and a heap load of photographers too! Wedding planning can be an absolute nightmare as a result. So I make it easy ... or at least I try my best!

I work differently. Gone are the static boring poses, the wedding magazine look, everyone afraid to move an inch in case the photographer gets angry. No, that's not for me!

I want you to have a stress-free experience where you just enjoy the day for what it is - a wedding day, not a photo-shoot.

For sure, we can break away briefly to have a few shots with your family and wedding party. Even throw in a couple shoot if you like - but there's no pressure to do this - it's your day, do it your way.

I've been called a "ninja" on more than one occasion by couples - more for the way I work than the way I look (I hope so anyway), and that pretty much sums up the way I roll.

But the stress-free stuff isn't limited to just the wedding day - oh no! Booking itself is as easy as 1-2-3. Very often, I don't even meet with couples at the outset - it's certainly not necessary on my part but I'm more than happy to have a quick chat (even just by video call rather than in person) if you want to.

And when it comes to meeting up before the wedding, again, not necessary as far as I'm concerned. I have an info gathering form that I send out to you for you to let me know all your plans, and I just roll with that. And after the big day, it'll be just a few weeks until you have your pictures - none of this hanging around for months nonsense!

And the good thing is, this laid-back approach doesn't come at a cost - for the past two years, I've been ranked by the WPJA as Scotland's top documentary wedding photographer for which, naturally, I'm very honoured. So I guess I'm doing something right.

I'm now in my 14th year shooting weddings, over 500 now and each and every one unique and fabulous in their own way. Although I didn't start out that way, I'm now very much a documentary wedding photographer, letting the day flow rather than stopping every few minutes for posed pictures - I like it that way!

Originally from London, I've lived in Scotland for 22 years now, so please excuse my Scottish banter in a Cockney twang! I'm married to Claire and have one teenage son, Matthew, and Christopher, a teenager in all but actual age itself!
