“Arta” Wedding : Megan & Panny

More exploits from this year’s weddings for you today folks and, this time around, I’m delighted muchly to be presenting part two of my inaugural “double header” from back in February. Wedding No.2 of the year took me into Glasgow’s Merchant City, Arta to be exact, for Megan & Panny’s big day. Subscribers to the blog (you know who you are LOL) will recall my first wedding of the year took place at Edinburgh’s Ghillie Dhu, not too dissimilar from Arta funnily enough with its dark, atmospheric, characterful vibe :-). That’ll be flashes on overdrive then … but you guys know I love that!

Arta Wedding : Claire & Ronnie

I can’t recall if I mentioned last time out, that May was a busy month for me – six weddings and culminating in a trip “down South” to Northamptonshire too. Plus, there was the small matter of the Champions League drama and all that, and I can tell you guys, that I was still on a total high when it came to shooting Claire & Ronnie’s big day, following Spurs’ last minute winning goal in the semi-final a couple of days previous – pity it didn’t work out in the final but that’s how it goes sometimes!

Arta Wedding : Chloe & Liam

For anyone that read my last wedding post on here (you know who you are :-)), you’ll know that Christmas definitely wasn’t a quiet time for me, and Chloe & Liam’s big day at Arta was to be the first of three weddings that I shot in the space of four days between Christmas & New Year – wow, so many numbers!

Wedding Photography at Arta, Glasgow ///
        Fiona & James’ Wedding Album

On this fine evening, I’m delighted to be sharing another new album design featuring Fiona & James’ wedding at Arta in Glasgow back in October last year.

For their album, the guys chose one of Graphistudio’s “Young Books” with 54 pages and opted for the wood fibre finish on both the album cover and box, all topped off with some subtle raised varnish text and an inset picture inside the box lid…very nice :-).

A lot of work goes into the designing and preparation of an album prior to it being sent off for printing. All in, I can easily spend around a day and a half with the selection of the images, the initial design, making any changes the couple want and then finally, what I call my “signature” editing process on all the pictures contained within the album to make them look their absolute best for printing.

Wedding Photography at Arta, Glasgow | Fiona & James

Continuing today with blogging the remaining weddings from last year guys, and today I’m taking you back to my first wedding in October last year, and a trip to a venue I’d been at before, but not for a wedding, namely Arta in Glasgow. The reason, Fiona & James’ wedding day :-).

Having been there before a couple of times for a bite to eat and some beverages :-), I knew that the general ambience was fairly dark and naturally, from my point of view, it was important to ensure that the pictures reflected that, so very subtle use of flash was very much the order of the day indoors.

To balance things up, it was great to get outside with the guys for their photo-shoot around the Merchant City – just loved the locations we used along the way and, lets not forget the petal drop during the first dance – fabulous day all round.
