Pre-Wedding Shoot at Beecraigs Country Park
Laura & Dean

So guys, a couple of weeks ago, I was out and about on my second pre-wedding shoot of the year with Laura & Dean at a location that I’ve used a few times now for these shoots, Beecraigs Country Park. The guys brought along their dog, Lola and, I know the old saying goes never work with children or animals, well, this time was the exception to the rule with Lola behaving exceptionally well and adding that little extra to the shots every now and then.

I do often get asked as to the benefits of pre-wedding shoots – will it make your wedding pictures better…not necessarily. Will it make you feel more comfortable getting your pictures taken come the big day…I think so. Will it get you used to being photographed…absolutely, and that’s a big plus. I see the pre-wedding shoot as a kind of dry run and a testing ground. We get to try out a few different types of shots and you can then tell me which ones you like and those that you’re not so keen on…and that’s a win-win come the big day :-). And, of course, you get to keep all the pictures from the shoot and also have the option of adding on a signing frame.

Pre-Wedding Shoot at Beecraigs Country Park ///Stacey & Scott

It’s been a little while since I did a pre-wedding shoot, late last summer I think :-), but last weekend I was out and about at a place where I’ve been a few times now, Beecraigs Country Park, for Stacey & Scott’s shoot. The guys brought their boys along with them so was great to get a few family shots as well as the usual “bride and groom to be” shots.

But, let me tell you guys, it was freezing…”baltic” as they say in these parts! So, hats off to the guys for braving the conditions and, as I said to them at the time, the pictures will look a lot warmer than they felt :-).

Pre-Wedding Shoot at Beecraigs Country Park | Saoirse & Kenny

In a few months time, I’m off to the beautiful Isle of Arran for a few days to shoot Saoirse & Kenny’s wedding day and I am definitely looking forward to that :-). Before that though, I shot a pre-wedding shot with the guys over at Beecraigs Country Park, just outside Linlithgow, accompanied by their dog, who certainly didn’t mind the odd dip or two in the water.

Saoirse & Kenny, thank you for going along with everything on the shoot 🙂 and I look forward to your big day in a few months. Here’s just a few of my favourites which I hope you like – click on any image to enlarge.

      Portrait Photography in West Lothian:
Kerry & Andy’s Pre-Wedding Shoot at Beecraigs Country Park

Well guys, that’s me back from a couple of weeks away in Tenerife! Always great to get away for a bit a re-charge as they say, although with two small kids in tow, holiday’s don’t yet fall into the “relaxing” category!!! And, taking a  break during wedding season means I’m coming back to a mountain of new weddings and pre-wedding shoots and all that editing. And, of course, blogging, as I always like to keep you in touch with what I’ve been up to. And, today, I have a new pre-wedding shoot to share with you – this one, from way back at the end of April with Kerry and Andy that we shot at Beecraigs Country Park.

This was a first for me at Beecraigs, not having been here before but what a great location…has everythign you need for a shoot – big tall trees (I’m not the horticultural type so “big tall trees” is about as good as I can muster :-)), a lake, tree lined paths…all very mystical and magical. This was the first time I’d met up with Kerry and Andy and a shoot like this is always great to get a feel for the type of photography that each couple prefer…and to try a few things slightly outside the box as well.
