Wedding Photography at Dundas Castle | April & Callum’s Wedding Album

Back in March, I shot the wedding of April & Callum at the very wonderful Dundas Castle and recently, was delighted to deliver their wedding album to them. The guys had come to the home office/studio a coupe of months back to make their choices for the album, making full use of the lab’s new “swatch box”…although to call it that seems to sell it short a little, as it’s totally stuffed full of all the many swatches and samples that then;ab have on offer when it comes to finishing your album just the way you want it.

For their album, the guys chose one of Graphistudio’s “Original Wedding Books”  and opted for the popular “crystal glance” cover complete with a light violet cloud leather binding. This was all topped off by a complementing design box in light violet & ice grey cloud leather.

A lot of work goes into the designing and preparation of an album prior to it being sent off for printing. All in, I can easily spend around a day and a half with the selection of the images, the initial design, making any changes the couple want and then finally, what I call my “signature” editing process on all the pictures contained within the album to make them look their absolute best for printing.

Wedding Photography at Dundas Castle | April & Callum

It’s been a few years now since I was last at the beautiful setting that is Dundas Castle, probably around four years I’d say..far too long. But, a few weeks ago, as Arnie says, I was back! The reason – April & Callum’s wedding day :-). And what a fantastic day it was, starting with a surprise for April and the girls as Callum had booked a limo to take them up to Dundas, and we’d exchanged a few “covert” emails to make sure I was at the house to capture the reactions as the limo arrived. Dundas had their own nice little touch as well, as after the ceremony the guys were presented with a lock and key to attach to a gate as a celebration of the 600th anniversary of the castle.

Dundas has so many brilliant locations for photography that, honestly, I could spend about 3 hours walking round with a bride & groom taking shots. But, of course, wedding days dictate that that’s not possible but we did, as is tradition, manage to get up on to the roof of the Auld Keep for some shots overlooking the Forth and it’s bridges, as well as a few on the turret. And, we rounded off the day with some night time shots in front of the floodlit castle and fountain, just before I headed off into the night.

Pre-Wedding Shoot at Dundas Castle | April & Callum

First proper blog post of the year today guys and, this year, I’m more determined than ever to keep the blog up to date! Started off well last year, as I do every year, but then, as usual, just the sheer number of weddings caught up with me from late summer onward and the blog took a wee bit of a sidestep :-(.

Anyway, that aside, last weekend, I was out and about at a slightly chilly, foggy, Dundas Castle with April & Callum, and their daughter Georgie :-), for their pre-wedding shoot. The guys are getting married at this very place in a couple of months and, let me just say, it really is the most amazing venue; well, not only the venue itself, but the grounds within which it’s set as well…fabulous!

        Edinburgh Wedding Photography:
Briana & Brett at Dundas Castle

First of a double header of weddings this weekend, kicking off in Edinburgh, South Queensferry to be precise (Dundas Castle to be even more precise) with Briana & Brett. Dundas Castle is a fantastic venue, offering plenty of opportunities for great wedding photography, so naturally, I’m really pleased the guys chose me to photograph their big day.
