“Orocco Pier” Wedding : Nicola & Brian

It’s been many years since I last shot a wedding at Orocco Pier, and I mean “many, many” years LOL, but, back in September last year I was back in town, as they say, to shoot the fabulous day that was Nicola & Brian’s wedding … and what a day!!!

Pre-Wedding Shoot in Dunfermline | Martha & Stephen

It’s not often that I get the chance to do pre-wedding shoots in the evening, such is the short window during the year when the daylight hours are long enough for it still to be light around 8pm! So was great to get out recently and do a shoot in some gorgeous evening sunlight with Martha & Stephen in Dunfermline – the Abbey & the Glen to be exact. I’ve shot a few pre-weddings here before and there’s certainly enough great locations to work with…and did I mention the fabulous early evening light 🙂 – if it was up to me, all weddings would be at this time of the day LOL.

Martha & Stephen, thank you for going along with everything on the shoot 🙂 and I look forward to your big day at my local venue, Glenbervie House, very soon. Here’s just a few of my favourites which I hope you like – click on any image to enlarge.

      Portrait Photography in Dunfermline:
      Laurie & Ross’ Pre-Wedding Shoot

So guys, been incredibly busy of late – only mid April and already 10 weddings in the bag this year – it’ll be 50+ come the year end! Anyway, that’s my excuse for my lack of blog activity of late and I have an absolute stack of weddings and pre-wedding shoots that I want to share with you. So, let’s get going and today I’m very pleased to be sharing some image with you from Laurie & Ross’s pre-wedding shoot that we did in Dunfermline a few weeks back.

If I recall correctly, the weather wasn’t too kind to us that day so instead of “easing” the guys into the shoot with a few walking shots, we got straight into the more posed creative stuff using the confines of Dunfermline Abbey for shelter until the rain eased off a little (although, in reality, it didn’t really ease off at all). Braving the elements, we then ventured outside for a few shots over in The Glen, an area I love shooting in and around, even despite the conditions.

Beautiful natural photos. Capturing the subjects and the natural lighting perfectly. Brilliant background too. Can’t wait to see the wedding photos!ReplyCancel

      Abbey Days:
A Wet & Windy Pre-Wedding Shoot in Dunfermline

So what is with all this freaky weather at the moment? When I booked all these pre-wedding shoots recently, I had visions of being out and about in t-shirts, shorts (well, perhaps a bit of an exaggeration there) and struggling against the sun – who knew! Second week in a row and it’s cold, wet and windy – hardly what I envisioned, but needs must and on we press.

With Emma & Graham today for their shoot in Dunfermline. I’ve done a few shoots here before so at least I know we can head into the sanctuary that is the Abbey to kick things off and at least get some respite from the rain. The Abbey’s great for photography – all dark and atmospheric with just enough light coming through the door to make an image possible. Of course, it wouldn’t be a pre-wedding shoot with me without a bit of off-camera flash as well, so I duly oblige and simulate the sun, as there’s no way on earth we’re going to get the real thing today!
