Wedding Photography at Glenbervie House | Laura & Scott’s Wedding Album

So last week, it was great to catch up briefly again with Laura & Scott as they dropped by the home studio to collect their wedding album. The guys were married last spring at my local venue, the very fabulous Glenbervie House :-).

For their album, the guys chose Graphistudio’s very stylish Young Book and went for one of the classic black & white “touch” combinations for the box and album, complemented with a powder pink ribbon to match the colour of the wedding day.

    Wedding Photography at Glenbervie House:
    Lynsey & Derek

Lynsey & Derek’s wedding at Glenbervie House marked the start of a run of three weddings in three days for me. I’ve always said that I would never shoot more than three on the spin but, hey, come next month, there’s the possibility that I may be doing four – better get in training then:-).

    Wedding Photography at Glenbervie House:
    Michelle & Steven

So, this pushing out two blog posts on a Wednesday is becoming quite the thing for me – two last week and now two this week – I need to break these bad habits…and I’m working late shift again to boot. But, needs must as it’s a busy time of the year for me with 8 weddings this month alone, which include a double header (just this weekend gone) and a triple header (I kid you not) at the end of the month.

So guys, this fine Wednesday evening, I’m delighted to share with you some images from Michelle & Steven’s wedding at my local venue, Glenbervie House, back in March. I do love shooting at Glenbervie, and not only as it’s just five minutes up the road :-). But, this time, I also got to sample the amaze-balls that is the Coach House where all the guys were getting ready from. I’ve never been here before and the place is stunning – the perfect place to start your big day! And , from a personal point of view, brilliant for photography – even doing the detail shots, for once I had an absolute ton of room to move around :-).

Even though the Coach House is but a short hop to the main building at Glenbervie, the girls had a car arranged for the trip – wise given the circumstances of swirling wind and rain and, hey, you just know it’s going to be a good day when the car with Michelle in came up the drive back-lit by a rainbow..and that doesn’t happen too often trust me!

    Falkirk Wedding Photography:
Shonagh & Andrew at Glenbervie House

Busy times at “Chez Cook” Photography – not sure if that phrase even makes sense but he who dares and all that! Second of five weddings in the space of nine days – gotta love numbers. The eagle eyed among you are probably wondering where the first of the five weddings went to; well, that was a couple of days ago but the bride & groom preferred that I didn’t blog their images, and I respect that of course.

So, here we are at Glenbervie House, my local venue, literally. And, wouldn’t you know it, I’m here again in four days time. Anyway, enough of all these numbers; today I’m with Shonagh and Andrew for their big day and, very much like their pre-wedding shoot a few weeks back, it’s very chilly – “can I remove goosebumps in Photoshop” someone said while we were doing the group shots :-). But, a little chill isn’t going to spoil anything today and everyone seems to be having a great time.

    Walking Through History:
A Fantastic Pre-Wedding Shoot in Stirling

Been a while since I put a new post on the old blog, new baby in the house and all that. Well, that ends here people – wedding season really kicking into gear for me now and, with that, comes a ton of pre-wedding shoots, which I totally love shooting, as it gives us a chance to get to know each other a bit better, find out what shots the couple like, and those that they’re not so keen on, so, come the wedding day, we can make sure that we focus on the right ones – it’s a win-win all round.

Lesley & Mark are friends of ours, and I’m delighted to be shooting their wedding at Glenbervie House very soon, where I’m both photographer and guest. But today was all about the pre-wedding shoot and, boy, what a strange start we had as I was promptly “reprimanded” by a student photographer for getting in the way of her landscape shot, also to be told that I needed a licence to shoot at Stirling Castle as I was a professional – er, not sure that’s right as I was outside the Castle grounds at the time and well in view of the Castle staff who seemed to have no problem with what I was doing. Anyway, having been moved promptly on, we just wandered around Stirling a bit to see what we could find – I often find that’s the best way; sure, some planning helps but you never know what the conditions are going to be like on the day. Today was bright sunshine, albeit very cold with it, so I’m on the look out for shaded areas (sorry guys, I know it was colder in the shade :-(), and little pockets of light that I can use for a bit of impact. And, every not and then, I’ll throw in my own “artificial sun”, courtesy of my speedlight.
