Wedding Photography at Glenskirlie House | Rheannon & Derek

My first wedding of the year…and, as it stands, my first of 39 this year, although strangely, I’m still getting enquiries for weddings this year – is everyone leaving it later in the day to plan their wedding these days? Of course, I know in Rheannon & Derek’s case that was the very thing…can’t recall how many weeks but I know it wasn’t many…just a couple of months or thereabouts I think…I know I myself only took the booking in December so we had a quick meet up the week before the wedding and then the big day was here before you knew it.

I kicked off at the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry where the bridal prep was taking place before heading up to the very secluded Abercorn Church for the ceremony, and boy was it chilly waiting outside for the bridal party to arrive…I never want to wait inside just in case I miss the arrival and, I choose not to wear a coat or jacket…just find it a bit restricting when trying to wield two cameras around at speed.

“Absolutely stunning! Well done Mike you captured Stuart & Rebecca as they happily start their married life together, loved the atmospheric black & white shots and both their personalities shine through in your pictures”

    Stirlingshire Wedding Photography:
Ailie & Peter at Glenskirlie House

Been a few weeks since I put a new post on here, mainly due to yours truly taking a wee sabbatical whilst our child-minder is on holiday – try running a business with a three year old and a seven month old in the house??? Anyway, almost back in full stride again so, good chance to post a few images from Ailie & Peter’s wedding day back at the start of July. Fairly local for me as the ceremony was at Larbert Old Church which I can actually see from my bedroom window (and where sat navs seem to send anyone trying to find our house – honestly, these houses were built about seven years ago now, you would think that sat navs would be updated by now).

Beautiful scorching hot day as I recall as I kicked off at Ailie’s parents house for the bridal prep shots with the usual buzz of nervousness, excitement and anticipation (and that was only me :-)). Then off to the church where I manage to get a few quick shots of the guys before getting set up for the ceremony and Ailie’s arrival. Larbert Old Church has got to be the darkest church that I’ve ever shot in. It’s not always apparent to the eye, as your eye (unlike a camera) will compensate for the darkness. Boy am I grateful that the cameras these days can cope in these conditions, especially when I’m not permitted to use flash – if I say ISO3200 to my photographer friends, you will know what I mean!
