    Frankee & Andrew’s Pre-Wedding Shoot

I’m heading off on a short break soon guys and, when I return, it’ll pretty much be time for Frankee and Andrew’s wedding day at the very wonderful Solsgirth House. Seems like ages ago now that I first met up with the guys when they booked me (June 2012 if my records are correct) so it was great to catch up recently to do their pre-wedding shoot in Linlithgow, a location that I’ve shot in quite a few times before, both for weddings and pre-wedding shoots. And the great thing was, it was dry…I kid you not!!! Always seems to rain for some reason when I’m here – check out my last shoot here with Pauline & Alasdair if you want to see what I mean.

Linlithgow’s a great location for this type of shoot as it offers lots of great locations within a short hop of each other; there’s the cobbled road leading up to the Palace, the Palace itself (outside that is – inside not being permitted without prior permission..and a fee), the entrance archway, wobbly jetty 🙂 and a few other good spots as well..I could go on, but I’ll let the images speak for me instead.

Just been been admiring the photographs of my niece Frankee Ward and her husband to be, Andrew Forsyth that you took at Linlithgow Palace. I was amazed at how your use of black and white and colour photographs captured the mood and emotion. Very well done.ReplyCancel

Rochelle & Callum’s Pre-Wedding Shoot at Blackness Castle

So, a few weeks ago, I was out with Rochelle and Callum on their pre-wedding shoot at Blackness Castle, near Linlithgow, somewhere I’ve never been to before. In many ways, I guess the title of the post is just a touch inaccurate, as we didn’t actually get to go into Blackness Castle itself (professional photography not being allowed without prior permission…and a fee), but just around the grounds and surrounding areas. And boy, was it cold!

I don’t often feel the conditions myself on a shoot – often feels like when I get behind the camera, everything else around me, including weather conditions, pales into insignificance. But, today, even I’m feeling it…brrr! A brief respite was offered from the biting wind when we jumped a wall to get down onto the beach area but that didn’t last long before we were back into the Arctic conditions for the remainder of the shoot…but hey, we got some nice stuff :-).

    Pauline & Ali’s Pre-Wedding Shoot

First post of the week guys and I’m going slightly out of order to feature Pauline & Ali’s pre-wedding shoot last weekend. Yes, I know I still have four weddings from over the Xmas period still to blog first but, Pauline & Ali’s wedding day is this coming weekend so it seemed only right to get some pre shoot images out there before the big day!

So, Linlithgow was the chosen venue after, I understand, some debate :-). Pauline’s choice would have been South Queensferry…another fantastic location by the way. But, in all honesty, with the rain totally pouring down on the day of the shoot, Linlithgow turned out the be the “slighltly” better option, at least affording some cover where South Queensferry would not have.
