“Lochside House” Wedding : Danielle & Ryan

For my 52nd and final wedding of last year, I was back at the fabulous Lochside House Hotel for Danielle & Ryan’s big day. Even though that seems quite a while ago now, such has been the impact of COVID-19, I’ve actually only shot two more weddings since then … and I’ll be featuring those on the blog soon too :-).

Lochside House Wedding : Gillian & Ross

If you’re a regular visitor to my blog (you know who you are), then you’ll probably be aware that this here is part two of my Lochside House wedding “double header” weekend  – yep, two weddings at the same venue on two consecutive days…what are the chances? It’s that kind of thing where you even give the restaurant staff a touch of “deja vu” when you go in for your break and they look at you like “weren’t you here yesterday”…but they’re not really sure LOL. Heck, I even got sat at the same table as the day before!

Anyway guys, what can I say about Gillian & Ross’ big day? Well, firstly, the weather played ball again – glorious…probably as good as you could expect for November, providing some early evening dramatic skies for us to work with when it came to our couple shoot :-).

Lochside House Wedding : Lindsay & Stephen

So here’s the thing guys, I rarely now shoot two weddings over the weekend, having made a conscious decision some time ago that, well, we all need at least one day off per week for some family time etc :-). So, with weekend “double headers” being a rare thing for me these days, even rarer is to be doing that in the very same venue! Yep, two days running at the fabulous Lochside House Hotel…what are the chances?

First up then, it was great to be out on part one shooting Lindsay & Stephen’s big day, and also to catch up with a few familiar faces who’s weddings I’d also shot in previous years 🙂 – thank you again guys…you know who you are! I guess it’s one of the best endorsements you can get when friends of the bride & groom then go on to ask you to shoot their own big day…and natirally I’m always forever grateful.

Wedding Photography at Lochside House Hotel Victoria & Michael

Back in July, I started a run of four weddings in just five days with a visit down to one of my favourite venues, Lochside House Hotel for Victoria & Michael’s big day :-). Unusually, the first two weddings in this run were on a Tuesday and Wednesday – I say “unusual”due to the fact that I don’t get too many midweek weddings as a general rule…but to get two back to back is extremely rare! But hey ho, that’s the way it goes down sometimes.

My day started as usual with a wee bit of bridal prep and with Victoria and her six bridesmaids all getting ready, there was certainly plenty of lively moments to shoot 🙂 before heading off to St. John the Evangelist church for the ceremony and then down to Lochside for the reception.

Wedding Photography at Lochside House Hotel | Sarah & Martin’s Wedding Album

Did I mention recently how many albums are coming and going from the studio just now…just once or twice I think :-). Must be a post Christmas thing where couples sit down and finalize their album selections and designs…and, the latest to leave “chez Mike” was from a wedding I shot back in 2013 – Sarah & Martin’s to be exact at the very fabulous Lochside House Hotel where, and having been there a few times now I can vouch for this, the food is totally wonderful…bot do I look forward to my break when I’m working there!

So yes, 2013 wedding but hey, that’s no issue as there’s absolutely no time limit on how long it takes to finalize the album design and I do understand that the stresses and strains of everyday life do sometimes mean that things like picking pictures for your wedding album do take a back seat…I still have an album pending from a 2012 wedding would you believe!
