Ah, second post of the night as we head towards midnight. Honestly, my blog posts are like buses; nothing for ages and then…well, you know. This time, I’m really pleased to feature a few images from Karen & Gordon’s intimate wedding in South Queensferry a couple of weeks ago. Most weddings that I get to shoot are the usual large number of guests and all day format but, every now and then, I get asked to shoot something just that little bit different, such as today – just Karen, Gordon and their three children, with the ceremony at South Queensferry Registrars followed by a few family group shots in and around South Queensferry.

Beautiful day it was weather wise which, for a setting like this, really does make a difference – blue water always looks better than grey (at least it does in these type of images).

Lisa & Howard at Orocco Pier

Second wedding of the weekend and I’m back in South Queensferry, this time for Lisa & Howard’s big day. I know I’ve said it before many a time, but I love shooting in and around South Queensferry and, lest we not forget, their fantastic venue for the wedding – Orocco Pier. I always find the staff here really great to work with; makes such a big difference to the end result photographically speaking – sadly, I’m afraid that cannot be said for all venues :-(.

Briana & Brett’s Pre-Wedding Shoot in South Queensferry

Second stab at Briana & Brett’s pre-wedding shoot today as we’d postponed the first one a couple of weeks ago due to rain (a not too uncommon occurrence this Summer I might add). South Queensferry is our venue – seem to have been here quite a lot lately, but there’s a good reason for that – it’s a great location – a bit quirky and “oldy worldy” (is there such a word?) and, of course, the iconic Forth bridges are just a fantastic backdrop for any image.

Sarah & Robbie’s Pre-Wedding Shoot in South Queensferry

Nearly at the end of a really busy week for me (three weddings, two pre-wedding shoots and a new client meeting) and I’m out and about in South Queensferry for an evening pre-wedding shoot with Sarah & Robbie. We’d already had to postpone the previously scheduled shoot due to rain but, in many ways, I kind of glad we did as this evening we’ve been rewarded with some glorious evening sunshine and what a great location in which to maximise it.

If you had told me a week ago (when we were sitting in what felt like sub-zero temperatures), that we were going to have a few scorching hot days (well, in Scotland they count as scorching hot days), then, well, let’s say, I wouldn’t have believed you. But, there we have it and, following my own advise to self from a couple of days ago, I made sure that the old factor 15 was liberally applied before heading out to the gorgeous setting of South Queensferry for Wendy & Jason’s wedding.
