If you had told me a week ago (when we were sitting in what felt like sub-zero temperatures), that we were going to have a few scorching hot days (well, in Scotland they count as scorching hot days), then, well, let’s say, I wouldn’t have believed you. But, there we have it and, following my own advise to self from a couple of days ago, I made sure that the old factor 15 was liberally applied before heading out to the gorgeous setting of South Queensferry for Wendy & Jason’s wedding.
Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing Emily and Ryan’s wedding at Edinburgh Zoo. As well as the usual more formal images, the guys wanted to capture some images that encapsulated the feel of the day and, having got married at the zoo, it seemed only right to try to get a few images with some of the animals. A recce beforehand had shown me that this was going to be a bit more tricky than at first envisaged, as the layout of the various cages and pens didn’t lend themselves to include a photograph of the bride & groom. If ever there was a unique venue for a wedding (and, of course, wedding photography), then I’m sure Edinburgh Zoo would be right at the top of the list. And this is where I was today for the wedding of Emily & Ryan. We had a good laugh when the guys came up from London a few weeks ago for their pre-wedding shoot in the Dean Village so I had a feeling that today was going to be a good day, and that’s exactly how it turned out.
