So guys, continuing then with more weddings from this year and we’ve reached October – just the three weddings for me that month, as I managed to sneak in a cheeky ten days away in sunny Kos mid way through, but three fabulous weddings all the same. And it all kicked off with another wedding “double header” weekend with part 1 seeing me back once again at the wonderful Cornhill Castle to shoot Rachel & Jack’s big day!
In recent years, Cornhill has easily become my most visited venue and amen to that I say as I just love it there – just so many different locations for shots, inside and out – “inside” being a bonus of course if the weather doesn’t play ball, although thankfully no problems on that score on this very day.
Per the norm, I shot the day in my usual 90% documentary, reportage, storytelling style pausing only briefly for a handful of group shots and two quick “couple shoots”, one before and one after dinner – trust me guys, the couple shoots really are quick – 10/15 minutes and we’re done! I kid you not.
Such a fabulous day! And, as a wee bonus, the guys were kind enough to pull together a few words to sum up their thoughts:
“We first discovered Mike’s incredible work whilst searching for a wedding venue and from that moment, we knew he had to be the one to capture our special day. Mike exceeded all our expectations — his ability to beautifully document every moment of our wedding was truly remarkable. Not only is he exceptionally talented, but he also made us feel completely at ease throughout the entire day. Our photos are beyond amazing, and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. Mike is truly a gifted photographer, and we feel so lucky to have had him be part of our wedding!”
Rachel & Jack, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your amazing wedding day and for the brilliant comments above! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Please feel free to leave a comment if you like … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

Like what you see … want to book me?
If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
For the past two years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands :-).
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
