“Dalmahoy” Wedding : Sharon & Ross

Well it’s been a few weeks since I posted anything to the blog, so putting that right today folks! I do have my excuses though, just back from hols in sunny Kos and so good (not) to get back to the cold and rain of home – so how’s about a warm sunny wedding day to balance things up?

Back at the end of August then (the very last day of August to be exact) I was out at the wonderful Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club shooting Sharon & Ross’ big day! I’d shot a few weddings at Dalmahoy before but it’d been a few years since I was last there so great to be back. Weather wise, well what more could you ask for – wall to wall sunshine all day long.

As is often the case, my day started with bridal prep at the house before heading to St. Mary’s Church, in the grounds at Dalmahoy, for the ceremony. Then the short hop up the hill to Dalmahoy for the remainder of the day. As usual, I adopted my low-key documentary approach for the majority of the day, stopping only briefly for a hanfdul of group shots and two quick couple shoots, one before and one after dinner making full use of the gorgeous surroundings.

Sharon & Ross, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous wedding day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.

Please feel free to leave a comment if you like … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

Like what you see … want to book me?

If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!

My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!

For the past two years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands :-).

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
