“Lochside House” Wedding : Claire & Andrew

I’ve had a wee break from the blog of late guys, primarily to update my website a little bit – change the style, add some new gallery pages and all that … a change is always a good thing, well usually anyway! On top of that, it was great to receive the news from the WPJA that I finished the year as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photographer on both the main and “Artistic Guild” categories, with the latter also ranking 5th in the UK and 48th in the World – thank you guys :-).

Anyway, back to it today though with more weddings from last year and, this time around, I’m delighted to be featuring the fabulous day I spent with Claire & Andrew down at one of my favourite venues, Lochside House.

The wedding took place at the end of September and was to be my last for a few weeks as I headed off to Lanzarote for a cheeky break and some warmer weather :-). Speaking of weather, the day itself was the proverbial day of two halves – absolutely pouring down up to lunchtime and then blazing sunshine from then onwards – that’ll be apparent from the pictures!

As usual, I adopted my low-key documentary approach to the day, pausing only briefly for a few group shots and two very short “couple shoots”, one before and one after dinner, which is pretty much the way I roll these days good people – never let it be said that I’m “that” photographer that takes you away from the party LOL – and all the better for it in my opinion.

So guys, enough of my waffling, on with the pictures …

Claire & Andrew, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your amazing day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like. But please do let me know what you think – there’s a space for comments below the pictures :-).

Looking for “Documentary” Wedding Photography?

If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!

My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2024 & 2025 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
