Falkirk Wedding Photographer
Scotland's No.1 Ranked WPJA Reportage Wedding Photographer 2022 & 2023
"Mike is 100% top of the wedding photography game ... we booked him ... before we had even booked our venue. I didn’t want anyone else to shoot our day!"
Sara & Barry
"Reportage wedding photography is essentially telling a true story through photographs. The aim is to disturb your wedding day as little as possible, allowing the natural events of the day to unfold and being there to capture the most beautiful moments"
This is me!
Thanks for stopping by!
What floats your boat, photography speaking?
If it's the same thing as me, we could be in business.
What about a storytelling, candid approach to the day? Also known as reportage. Where you barely need to pull yourself away from the party for any time at all? And a photographer who'll blend into the background rather than barking orders at you all day? That's my jam!
I've won a few awards for this type of thing. But couple's words mean more to me than awards, like the comment at the top from Sara, who is, also, a wedding photographer.
There are more "nice words" on this site along with other blurb on how I work, loads of real weddings, pictures and so on.
So please have a browse and hey, who knows, we may even meet one day...

2022 & 2023 WPJA Artistic Guild
Top Ranked Scottish Photographer, 7th in the UK and World Top 50

Of course you can guys. I've shot over 500 weddings across 14 years in all conditions - we do live in Scotland after all. Pouring rain, snow, dark churches, drunk guests, trashed wedding cakes (true story) etc etc - yep, I've pretty much seen it all ... and dealt with it all - you're in good hands!
So, a wedding day is, essentially, a "story", right - a story with many parts, characters and emotions. You should be able to look back at your pictures and remember exactly how it felt to be there, as well at what it all looked like. My documentary approach will do just that - the story of your day told in a real, honest, natural fashion.
No problem! I'll still make time for a few group shots if you want them, but the emphasis is very much on "short & sweet", as I don't think I've ever seen a couple enjoy ploughing through a list of shots as long as your arm. Oh, we'll have a bit of fun doing them as well! Connection rather than perfection is the name of the game.
Not every couple's bag I know but, on what can often be a hectic day, some "couple time" pictures away from the crowd can be a good thing, again, if you want it. I recognise that, for a lot of couples, this can be a little daunting...but fear not. Chilled out and natural is the name of the game - no cheesy grinning, no awkward stiff posing, no lovey dovey stuff (unless you want to) ... just be yourselves, have a laugh, and let me add the creative spin.
