Hello!
Scotland's No.1 Ranked WPJA Reportage Wedding Photographer 2022 & 2023
"Mike is 100% top of the wedding photography game! We booked him ... before we had even booked our venue. I didn’t want anyone else to shoot our day!"
Sara & Barry
I'm Mike and thanks for stopping by.
What floats your boat, photography speaking? If it's the same thing as me, we could be in business.
What about a storytelling, candid approach to the day? Also known as reportage. Where you barely need to pull yourself away from the party for any time at all? And a photographer who'll blend into the background rather than barking orders at you all day? That's my approach!
I've won a few awards for this type of thing. But couple's words mean more to me than awards, like the comment at the top from Sara, who is, also, a wedding photographer.
So, if a relaxed, candid approach to the day is your bag, rather than something resembling a photoshoot, I could just be what you're looking for!
Hope to hear from you soon...
"Mike exceeded all our expectations - his ability to document every moment of our wedding was truly remarkable. Our photos are beyond amazing!"

2022 & 2023 WPJA
Top Ranked Scottish Photographer, UK Top 25 & World Top 150
2022 & 2023 WPJA Artistic Guild
Top Ranked Scottish Photographer, 7th in the UK and World Top 50
86 WPJA Individual Picture Awards & 6 Global Titles
Of course you can guys. I've shot over 500 weddings across 15 years in all conditions - we do live in Scotland after all. Pouring rain, snow, dark churches, drunk guests, trashed wedding cakes (true story) etc etc - yep, I've pretty much seen it all ... and dealt with it all - you're in good hands!
These days, I only shoot around 25 weddings a year, so you can be assured that I'll be giving each and every wedding maximum focus both on the day itself and afterwards too working on your pictures and albums.
So, a wedding day is, essentially, a "story", right - a story with many parts, characters and emotions. You should be able to look back at your pictures and remember exactly how it felt to be there, as well at what it all looked like. My documentary approach will do just that - the story of your day told in a real, honest, natural fashion.
No problem! I'll still make time for a few group shots if you want them, but the emphasis is very much on "short & sweet", as I don't think I've ever seen a couple enjoy ploughing through a list of shots as long as your arm. Oh, we'll have a bit of fun doing them as well!
Connection rather than perfection is the name of the game.
On what can often be a hectic day, some "couple time" pictures away from the crowd can be a good thing, again, if you want it. I recognise that, for a lot of couples, this can be a little daunting...but fear not. Chilled out and natural is the name of the game - no cheesy grinning, no awkward stiff posing, no lovey dovey stuff (unless you want to) ... just be yourselves, have a laugh, and let me add the creative spin.
"Mike is a fantastic photographer who has expertly honed his ninja photography skills. You'll receive your photos from the day and wonder how he managed it. Amazing photographer and all round great guy that you shouldn't hesitate to book."
