Nearly at the end of a really busy week for me (three weddings, two pre-wedding shoots and a new client meeting) and I’m out and about in South Queensferry for an evening pre-wedding shoot with Sarah & Robbie. We’d already had to postpone the previously scheduled shoot due to rain but, in many ways, I kind of glad we did as this evening we’ve been rewarded with some glorious evening sunshine and what a great location in which to maximise it.
As most photographers will tell you, the evening sunshine (often referred to as the “golden hour”, ie the hour just before the sun sets) can produce some beautiful lighting conditions and adds a warmish glow to the images. The only downside is that as the sun is so low in the sky, very often, any buildings block the sun out completely, so, as is often the case, I’m on my usual “search for the right light”). I was here only on Tuesday shooting a wedding and, although it’s sunny as it was then, the light is completely different.
Sarah & Robbie are getting married in Edinburgh in just a couple of weeks time and I’m really looking forward to giving them some great images in the City come the day. Thanks guys for throwing yourselves into the shoot this evening and I hope you like the images. Here’s a few of my own favourites – the full set (as usual) can be founf in the online gallery (password required).
