Back out on pre-wedding shoot duty today with Lisa & Howard, who brought the girls along too, Poppy & Mabel. The guys are getting married at Orrocco Pier in South Queensferry in September and I’m really looking forward to that, as South Queensferry is one of my favourite places to shoot in and around. Funnily enough, South Queensferry is where we kicked off today, although we’re actually bound for Aberdour over in Fife for the shoot.
Weather today is a touch unpredictable. In fact, I’d already postponed another shoot scheduled for the afternoon for that reason alone. But so far so good, and it’s not long before we’re on the beach at Aberdour to kick things off. Pre-wedding shoots are great for trying things out ahead of the wedding day but often, I’ll just ask the couple to walk from A to B and see what happens, as was the case with a number of the shots you see below, which are some of my favourites – there’s nothing forced or directed about them, they just look entirely natural.
Of course, a pre-wedding shoot wouldn’t be complete without some “directed” images and, naturally, some flash, so thanks guys for going along with my ideas and I hope you like the selection of images below.
