Dunfermline Portrait Photography:
Leanne & Darren’s Pre-Wedding Shoot at “The Glen”

In what’s already been a busy week for yours truly, back out on pre-wedding shoot duty today with Leanne & Darren. The guys are getting married at Gean House in August and I’m really looking forward to that one and giving them some great images. But, for today’s shoot, we found ourselves in Dunfermline – the Abbey and Pittencrieff Park (known locally as “The Glen”) to be precise.

And, wouldn’t you know it, it’s pretty damn hot again (not sure my head can take much more of this sun :-)). Anyway, factor 15 on again and off we went. Kicked off with a few shots in the Abbey itself, as it usually has some great light pouring in from the stained glass windows – not too much today as the sun was probably a bit too high in the sky, but enough all the same for the desired effect. That said, we didn’t stay too long as it seemed wrong to be indoors on a day like today. However, being outdoors in these conditions also presents its own set of challenges for us photographers, always trying to find the right light in and out of the sunshine – a challenge yes, but rewarding when you find what you’re looking for. Sometimes you just have to roll with it and have the guys facing straight into the sun.

Anyway, Leanne & Darren, many thanks for “going along” with my ideas today. Here’s a few of my fave images – the full set can be found in your online gallery (password required).
