Was great to catch up again with Angela and Frank a couple of weeks ago as they dropped by the home office/studio to pick up their wedding album. The big day itself took place at the fabulous House for an Art Lover in Glasgow back in May last year so it was great to relive that day through the album as the guys flicked through page by page :-).
For their album, the Angela & Frank chose one of Graphistudio’s “Original Wedding Books” and opted for the popular “crystal glance” cover complete with grey interwoven binding. As a nice added touch, I suggested that we might like to use the very unique “Glasgow Strong” font typeset for the cover and first page…the very same font that is used by House for an Art Lover on the menus and place names.
And, being quite timely, Angela has just sent me these kind words…“We chose Mike after seeing his innovative and interesting work online and happily booked him after meeting and chatting over his portfolio. From our pre-wedding shoot to put us at ease, right through to the wedding album collection, Mike provided a warm and friendly service and captured the essence of our day to a T! Even in his blog he commented on how much laughter there was in our pictures and that really says it all for us. The photographs we have are beautiful but not until we received our album, did we realise how stunning they are and have a beautiful memento which reflects the happiest day with our friends and family. Thank you Mike! Frank and Angela”
A lot of work goes into the designing and preparation of an album prior to it being sent off for printing. All in, I can easily spend around a day and a half with the selection of the images, the initial design, making any changes the couple want and then finally, what I call my “signature” editing process on all the pictures contained within the album to make them look their absolute best for printing.
You can probably tell that I’m a big big fan of wedding albums and I absolutely love to see your wedding pictures displayed in this way :-). Of course, I’m biased, but I do believe that I’m partnered with the best album company in the world, Graphistudio from Italy, used by the majority of top professional wedding photographers worldwide. Check these out…there’s so many ways in which the album can be customised in terms of covers, back & spines, boxes, colours etc, that apparently there are about 4 million different combinations in total!
Graphistudio also have a policy of “vetting” photographers that they wish to be partnered with, so you can be assured that you’re getting an album that just isn’t available to a large majority…how unique is that!
Anyway, here’s a few images of the actual album, along with the proof design for all of the pages.
Please leave a comment…I love to know what you think
Family & friends (plus anyone else who might stop by), it would be fantastic if you could leave a comment at the bottom of the post (using either of the comment box options) as I love to hear what you think :-). Also, if you really like this album design, why not give me a “Like” on my Facebook page to keep in touch with what I’m up to – would be great to have you on board!
