A Wet & Windy Pre-Wedding Shoot in Dunfermline

So what is with all this freaky weather at the moment? When I booked all these pre-wedding shoots recently, I had visions of being out and about in t-shirts, shorts (well, perhaps a bit of an exaggeration there) and struggling against the sun – who knew! Second week in a row and it’s cold, wet and windy – hardly what I envisioned, but needs must and on we press.

With Emma & Graham today for their shoot in Dunfermline. I’ve done a few shoots here before so at least I know we can head into the sanctuary that is the Abbey to kick things off and at least get some respite from the rain. The Abbey’s great for photography – all dark and atmospheric with just enough light coming through the door to make an image possible. Of course, it wouldn’t be a pre-wedding shoot with me without a bit of off-camera flash as well, so I duly oblige and simulate the sun, as there’s no way on earth we’re going to get the real thing today!

So, eventually, outside we must head into Pittencrief Park, but I try and keep the guys fairly dry by going underneath trees and bridges and, as any photographer will know, that’s also great for light as it eliminates all that nasty light coming from above which causes shadows underneath the eyes – there’s method in the madness :-).

Guys, thank you for braving the awful conditions today and I’m sorry for asking you to take your hands out of your pockets every now and then. I do hope you like these few images that I’ve selected.
