Stirlingshire Portrait Photography:
Jacqueline & Christopher’s Pre-Wedding Shoot at Stirling University

Well, what a difference a day makes. Yesterday, I was out in Glasgow on a pre-wedding shoot in the drizzling rain and here we are today, the location is the Stirling University grounds and I’m here with Jacqueline & Christopher on their own pre-wedding shoot in glorious sunshine. The guys are getting married next month in Stirling and they’ve got access to the Stirling Castle grounds as well, so I’m really looking forward to creating some great images for them come the day.

I love shooting in the University grounds; I was here last year a few times on both pre-weddings and weddings and there’s always a ton of different locations to choose from. Just walking around is usually the best policy, looking for the best lighting conditions – I was thinking the other day that it must feel a bit random and unscripted from the couple’s point of view (I lose count of the number of times I just stop in my tracks and say something like “just a minute guys, we’ll try something here”). Well, I guess there is an element of the unscripted involved; sure, you can plan to an extent but, as any photographer will tell you, the right light is what a good image makes and you can only really look for this on the day itself.

Guys, big thank you for going along with my ideas on the day and for being patient during my “search for light”; hope you like the images. Here’s a few of my own favourites – the full set can be found in the online gallery (password required).
