Wedding Photography at Brig o’ Doon House Hotel Roisin & Graeme

I really do believe I have one of the best jobs in the world. In what other line of work can you rock up and share one of the happiest days of a couples life, with all their family & friends having a total blast…and you’re there as part of that day! Of course, I have a job to do too, one which I take very seriously, but there’s no rule that says I can’t enjoy it as well, especially when you get a couple like Roisin & Graeme :-).

I guess I already had an idea that it was going to be a good day as I’d shot Roisin’s sister, Siobhan’s wedding to Eoin last year…ad what a great day that was – in fact guys, I’ve recently just blogged the album from that day if anyone wants a sneaky peek :-).

Throw in the fact that the day took place at one of my favourite venues, the wonderful Brig 0′ Doon House Hotel, and that the weather played ball all day long, and you’ve got that perfect mix for a perfect day.

Wedding Photography at Brig o’ Doon House Hotel |Claire & Alan’s Wedding Album

One of the latest albums to head off out of the studio was from a wedding I shot last September with Claire & Alan at the very wonderful Brig o’ Doon House Hotel, one of my favourite venues. Glorious weather enabled us to get a great mix of shots both before and after dinner, the latter under some fabulous early evening skies – brilliant day all round :-).

For their album, the guys chose one of Graphistudio’s “Original Wedding Books”  and opted for the ever popular “crystal glance” cover bound in dark brown leather and all coupled off in a dark brown and mocha complementing design box.

A lot of work goes into the designing and preparation of an album prior to it being sent off for printing. All in, I can easily spend around a day and a half with the selection of the images, the initial design, making any changes the couple want and then finally, what I call my “signature” editing process on all the pictures contained within the album to make them look their absolute best for printing.

Wedding Photography at Brig o’ Doon:
      Alexis & Ben

I’ve never missed a wedding yet through illness, but Alexis & Ben’s wedding at the fantastic Brig o’ Doon was the closest I’ve ever come to not making it. 24 hours earlier, I was lying in bed, struck down with some kind of virus and pretty much unable to get up – boy, was I worried! Still, amazing what a good night’s sleep and plenty of antibiotics can do – morning of the wedding and, whilst it would be fair to say that I wasn’t at the top of my game, I’d recovered sufficiently enough to set off for Ayrshire.

Isn’t it true that they say that laughter is the best medicine – well, thank goodness then for Alexis and Ben and their family and friends – what an unbelievable day! Guys, you were all such a pleasure to photograph – hardly any input needed from me at all; you just did your thing and it looked great, allowing me to get some fantastic shots. And all to the backdrop of the stunning Brig o’ Doon – always been one of my favourite venues :-).
