First of two weddings in three days today and I’m fairly local for a change, just a few miles down the road in Falkirk at The Three Kings to shoot the wedding of Suzanne & Andrew. Seems like only a couple of weeks ago that we did their pre-wedding shoot down in South Queensferry…hang on, it was only a couple of weeks ago!
Anyway, back to today and the old weather really can’t make its mind up. The forecast looks favourable, but when was the last time that was ever right! I kick off as usual with the bridal prep at Suzanne’s mum’s house where there’s the usual mix of nervousness and excitement, all helped along with a glass or two of plonk (not me, in case you were wondering). With shots in the bag, it’s a short hop up to The Three Kings, where the rest of the day will unfold. I arrive just a short time ahead of Suzanne and break my own record for getting my two camera bodies strapped in place. Honestly, I look ridiculous – two cameras strapped to me, one either side (wide-angle and zoom lens), but do I care…not a bit…it’s the ceremony and I need to zoom in and pan out for wide shots and there’s absolutely no time to change lenses.
Post ceremony, we all head outside for the groups shots and I don’t mind telling you it is absolutely freezing. Suffice to say, we get through the group shots pretty quickly – I break another record for the time taken to get back inside the venue into the warm! And then wouldn’t you know it, out comes the sun and warms things up a bit, just in time for the bride & groom shots…perfect.
Guys, thank you for choosing me to photograph your wedding. Hope you like the images. Here’s just a few of my favourites from the day. The whole set can, as usual, be found in the online gallery (password required). If you like these (and even if you don’t), please leave a comment at the bottom as it’s always great to know what you think.
