“Sherbrooke Castle” Wedding / Hazel & Duncan

For my second August wedding, I was back once again at the very fabulous Sherbrooke Castle, this time to shoot Hazel & Duncan’s big day! To say I’d shot a few weddings before at Sherbrooke would be an understatement – I’ve lost count since the first one I shot back in 2014, but always great to be back … and more to come next year too!

As per the norm, I shot the day in my usual candid documentary style, save for a couple of quick chilled out couple shoots and a handful of group shots, allowing the guys to spend the majority of the day with their guests … just what a wedding day should be (in my opinion anyway) and, more importantly, exactly what the guys were looking for when they booked me.

And, as if to back that up, the guys were very kind to send me some very nice words about their experience:

“We were keen for Mike to be our wedding photographer as we liked the idea of his documentary style approach. We’re both terrible at posing for photos and were worried we’d feel awkward doing so, however Mike made us feel at ease throughout the day and we ended up finding the whole experience very enjoyable.

We were extremely impressed with Mike’s creative vision – the photos he captured were perfect and we can’t thank Mike enough for capturing our day so beautifully. He caught so many wonderful moments we’d have missed otherwise and we’ll cherish these forever.”

Hazel & Duncan, it was great to be with you all on your amazing day shooting your wedding photography at Sherbrooke Castle and thank you very much for choosing me! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.

Please feel free to leave a comment if you like … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

Looking for Sherbrooke Castle Wedding Photography … or anywhere for that matter?

If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!

My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast! Find out more here about the way I work.

World Top 10 Photographer

For the past three years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands. And, last year, I was very honoured to be ranked as one of the Top 10 Photographers in the World in their Artistic Guild category … thank you guys!

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2026 & 2027 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
