Well it’s certainly been a while since I last posted to the blog but there has been good reason … honestly, I’m not getting lazy LOL! No, in simple terms, wedding postponements due to the pandemic led to the second half of this year being totally full on with weddings, very often two weddings per weekend, sometimes even three, so the blogging had to take a back seat while I worked my way through the mountain of wedding editing.
But hey, it feels like things are settling back into a normal working pattern now, so today then, I’m delighted to be sharing with you fabulous people some shots from the amazing day I spent with Morag & Ally on my first ever visit to the Inn at Charlestown back at the end of June – yep, that seems like quite a while ago now!
Back in the day (2011 to be exact), not long after I started shooting weddings on my own, I shot Morag’s sister Rhona’s wedding to Stephen, so it was great as always to catch up with a few familiar faces – that was wedding no.6, this was wedding no.423 … not that I’m counting or anything!
With the wedding taking place back in June, there were still a few COVID restrictions in place (mainly relating to the evening reception) but that never held anyone up from having a great time. Indeed, as the weather played ball, the majority of the day, including the ceremony, was spent outside in the gardens anyway :-).
I’m not great with words (which let’s face it is a bit rubbish if you’re trying to write a blog post!!!) so, as usual, I’m going to let the pictures tell the story of the day …
Morag & Ally, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous day! Here’s a few of my favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Looking for “Reportage” Wedding Photography?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me…it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short bride & groom shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2022, 2023 and even 2024 … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
Full day coverage collections start at £1800 … but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).
Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).
Mike :-).
Thanks Mike we had a great day and you’ve captured it brilliantly. More great memories for proud parents to treasure…..
