So back in June, one week on from my 700 mile round trip to Northampton, I was, shall we say, slightly closer to home, about 3 miles up the road at The Parsonage, for Elena & Lovemore’s big day :-).
Being one of my local venues, I’ve shot weddings at The Parsonage quite a few times now…but it never gets old, as they say – just love it there, even if I am still waiting to shoot my first outdoor ceremony there – been scuppered by the weather on a few occasions now and this day was no exception…damn you rain LOL. But hey, a little drizzle never dampened a cracking wedding day and that’s exactly what we got :-).
I could tell from the get go during the bridal prep what kind of vibe there was going to be…and I was pretty much correct – in fact, even better than I thought. Even the drizzle eased off just enough for us to get out and about (and under trees LOL) for some shots later in the day and what a total blast that was…most of the time, I just set the shots up and let the guys “go with the flow”…very often, I find, the best way to bring out a couple’s true personailities, rather than me “over posing” anyone. Funnily enough, I just received a few kind words in from the guys that pretty much says the same thing…
After stumbling across Mike’s photography on Instagram there was no doubt over booking him – we didn’t even look at other photographers. His candid style along with the perfect yet effortlessly styled backdrop couple photos really hooked us.
Mike turned up to shoot the bride-prep shots and faded into the background while capturing the excitement of the morning. Throughout the day, Mike captures moments and interactions of guests making the photos feel like real snapshots of the day rather those posed and artificial memories.
Our favourite thing about Mike and in fact our favourite thing about our photos is our couple photos. Mike lights up with joy over finding the perfect backdrop for your photos and genuinely loves capturing the perfect setting. It’s so nice to have someone who cares passionately on each detail. Mike also captured who we are as a couple by not forcing poses but instead letting us giggle together and embrace the romantic nature of the day.
The one thing EVERYONE comments on is the standard of our photos. One of the biggest compliments for us is that many people say Mike has managed to capture who we are as a couple in each photo.
So thank you Mike, for not only being so lovely, patient and professional but for making our wedding memories last so beautifully and perfectly.

Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me…it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
