So, it’s been quite a few weeks since I blogged a new wedding for you guys, such is often the way at the start of the year, with January & February traditionally being the quietest months of the year wedding wise but, get to March and that all changes in a big way! Yes folks, wedding season is definitely off and running … with three weddings in the space of seven days no less!
The first of my March weddings took me west on my first ever visit to the Bowfield Hotel and Spa which, as I found out while I was there, is one of the Manorview group of venues, many of which I’ve worked at before (Cornhill Castle, Boclair House etc) – in fact, the Bowfield is probably the only one I haven’t been to, so that’s that ticked off the list then.
Carolann & Mark’s big day was right up my street in the way I shoot a wedding these days. Aside from the briefest of stops for a handful of family group shots plus two short couple shoots (one before and one after dinner), the rest of the day was shot in my usual low-key documentary style without “bothering” anyone at all … and I really do mean that guys. Sometimes, there can be a misconception that “yeah, you say that, but I bet you still do posey bride shots, mock cake cuttings, fake register signing shots etc etc” – but no, honestly, I really don’t – I really do just leave you to get on and enjoy the day … and all the better for it in my opinion :-).
As with all the weddings I get to shoot, a truly fabulous day and, as usual, I’ll leave the pictures to tell the story.

Scotland’s Top Ranked Wedding Photojournalist
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
For the second year running, I’ve been recognised as Scotland’s No.1 ranked photographer with the WPJA (both photojournalism and artistic categories), UK Top 10 and World Top 50.

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
