July is generally a quiet month for me! Yep, you heard right; slap bang in the middle of peak wedding season, I take time out to try and get away somewhere for a couple of weeks and, having kids of a high school age, means it has to be July (unless I want to run the wrath of the school authorities) – honestly, the number of enquiries I turn away each year for July weddings is mind blowing.
So, just the one wedding in July for me this year and, fresh off a two week cruise in the Med, I made the long journey north to the Brewdog HQ in Ellon, just outside Aberdeen – yes guys, nowhere is off limits for me! And, you know what, if I was only going to shoot one wedding that month, then this is the kind of wedding I want to shoot … honestly, what a day!!!
The guys chose me for my minimum fuss documentary approach to the day, allowing them to spend the whole day with all their family and friends and, save for a super quick couple shoot and a handful of group shots, that’s exactly how the day panned out. Oh, and musn’t forget to mention the photo dash in the middle of dinner as well – the clue’s in the name though … it was quick!!!
It’s fair to say that I love shooting at new & unique venues and Brewdog HQ ticked both of those boxes – what a fabulous place, although I have to admit it was a touch semi torturous being surrounded by beer and not being able to touch a drop – yes people, I do not drink on duty … that waits till I get home!
Hazel & Harry, it was great to be with you all on your amazing day shooting your wedding photography at Brewdog HQ and thank you very much for choosing me! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Please feel free to leave a comment if you like … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

Looking for Brewdog Wedding Photography … or anywhere for that matter?
If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast! Find out more here about the way I work.
For the past three years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands :-).
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2026 & 2027 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
