Back with a bang on the blog today and featuring part two of a rare “wedding double header” for me back at the end of June – yes, two weddings in two days … I don’t do many of those these days! This was also to be the last wedding before my mid year summer hols, yep, we all need a break from time to time … and what a way to finish up!
Marie & Shawn’s big day took place at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, my first ever visit there with the bonus of being able to easily park outside … you can’t say that about most Edinburgh venues now can you!
It’s kind of stating the obvious to say that all weddings are different … that’s kind of a given and it’s what I love about shooting weddings, no two days are the same and the unpredictability of it all is very often the charm. We had planned to do a couple shoot in and around the venue but, with the day running a wee bit behind schedule and rain in the air, the day took a different course … and all the better for it in my book.
You guys know that I’m primarily a documentary wedding photographer – real moments are my passion rather than all that fancy posing, and there was no short supply of amazing “real” moments to shoot on this day … boy, what a party … and amen to that! Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever shot a more full-on wedding day … and I’ve shot a lot! Just look at some of those shots when the singing waiters kicked into gear!!!

Looking for Edinburgh Corn Exchange Wedding Photography … or anywhere for that matter?
If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast! For the past three years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands :-).
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2026 & 2027 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
