I don’t usually shoot weddings on my birthday, but such was the impact of COVID with scores of weddings needing to be rearranged, and with my birthday this year falling on a Saturday, there was always a good chance that one of those rearranged dates would be the 19th March LOL.
So, how fortunate was I then to celebrate my big day in the fabulous company of Emma & Iain, and their family & friends, on their own big day at the wonderful Carberry Tower :-). And, I’ve got to say this, what an amazing day weather wise – it genuinely felt like summer in the middle of March. Only the slight chill when the sun went down reminded you that we were still effectively at the end of winter. And, of course, the good weather meant that we were able to get outside and make full use of the fabulous grounds of the venue … one of my favourites btw!
And, as a wee bonus, and a testimony of what a brilliant day it was, I also won a couple of picture awards :-). I’m not big on awards generally, especially not the service based ones that are, in my opinion, more about back scratching and canvassing for votes, but I do take a slightly different stance when it comes to awards based on pictures alone as I believe this is a more accurate endoresement of your abilities as a photographer … just my view of course LOL. You’ll see the pics below in the post (they’re the one’s with the wee medal in the corner 🙂 – thank you to the WPJA.
Anyway, no more waffle … on with the pictures to tell the story of the day …
Emma & Iain, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your amazing wedding day! Here’s a few of my favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Looking for “Documentary” Wedding Photography?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short bride & groom shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2023 and 2024 … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
Full day coverage collections start at £1800 … but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).
Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).
Mike :-).
