More wedding adventures folks and, this time around I’m delighted to be featuring the last of my August weddings from last year when I spent a fabulous day in the sunshine with Louise & David at one of my fave venues, the gorgeous Cornhill Castle :-).
So, you may well ask why the blog posts are always published many months after the wedding has taken place, in this case nearly five months. Well, first up, it’s mainly a case of workload – the full set of pictures from the wedding day and an album design will always take precedent over the blog, naturally. And, I aim to blog every single wedding I shoot (with the couples’ permission of course), so there’s quite a few to get through each year, and I do try and give most of the pictures a wee extra processing “tweak” for variation, so they can take a good few hours to pull together … and then there’s the words … not my strong point … but I try my best LOL.
Picture selection is another factor too. I always aim for between 100-150 shots from the day … not easy to narrow it down when you’ve got very often 700-800 (or sometimes even more) to choose from. I don’t always go with the obvious choices either – I’m very much a photojournalistic photographer so you won’t see very many overly posed shots in here, and even those that do make it in tend to be more offbeat. I’m very much drawn to little “moments” – quirky, funny, emotional etc etc, shots that tell a story, and a wee bit artistic too … much more my jam than all that posey stuff LOL.
Anyway, enough of the process, on with the pictures …
Louise & David, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your big day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Looking for “Documentary” Wedding Photography?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short bride & groom shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2024 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
Full day coverage collections start at £1800 … but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).
Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).
Mike :-).
