It’s been many years since I last shot a wedding at Orocco Pier, and I mean “many, many” years LOL, but, back in September last year I was back in town, as they say, to shoot the fabulous day that was Nicola & Brian’s wedding … and what a day!!!
First up though, before our adventures in South Queensferry, there was the small matter of the ceremony that took place at the historic Dunfermline Abbey. The Abbey is one of those venues that has a few restrictions as far as photography goes, namely only being able to shoot from the gallery at the back and without flash, so a little challenging in a darkish venue, but I’m always one to abide by the rules, so c’est la vie, go with the flow and all that.
Still, look on the bright side – I’ve been at weddings where absolutely no photography at all was allowed in the church!!! And, on one of those occasions, the couple weren’t even aware of this themselves until the day itself so, top tip folks, getting married in a church, always ask beforehand to avoid disappointment.
So guys, enough of me waffling, on with the pictures for what was one of the best weddings I shot last year – what a fabulous crowd :-).
Nicola & Brian, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your amazing day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Looking for “Documentary” Wedding Photography?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short bride & groom shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2024 & 2025 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
Full day coverage collections start at £1800 … but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).
Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).
Mike :-).
