First blog post of the year so, as is customary at this time … Happy New Year folks!!! I don’t shoot my first wedding this year until the end of February so that’ll give me a good opportunity to catch up on the old blog with all the remaining fabulous weddings from last year, kicking off with the wonderful day I spent with Susanne & Paul back in August at Edinburgh Zoo … yep, you read that right … Edinburgh Zoo.
So, just to clarify…within the grounds of the zoo, high up on the hill, lies the historic Mansion House, dating back to 1793 no less! This, my friends, is where all the action happens on the wedding day…not, quirky though it would be, in the monkey house or meerkat enclosure LOL. That said, you do get to roam the grounds of the zoo though, so there are opportunities for, shall we say, some slightly unusual shots.
For their big day, Susanne & Paul travelled over from Ireland with just a few close family and friends, making for a very intimate day without some of the usual time constraints … just as well really as a torrential downpour during the afternoon put our couple shoot “on ice” for a period of time but, as soon as that had passed, out we went to roam around the grounds of the zoo. The guys had a bit of penguin theme going on, so of course it made sense to head over to Penguin Rock to see what we could get – if you look carefully at some of the shots below, you will see penguins in the distance .. yep, “in the distance” … penguins rarely “play ball” it seems and pop over for a photo opp when you want one!
Susanne & Paul, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous day. Here’s a few of my favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Looking for some “Ninja Style” Wedding Photography?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me…it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot! But, I will always make time for a very small number of family group shots and also, a short bride & groom shoot and here, it’s my aim to provide you with some truly fabulous pictures :-). To know more about my wedding day approach to how I shoot weddings, just click here.
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2021, 2022 & even 2023!…but I do have a limited number of 2020 dates still available too (though not many Saturdays!)
Full day coverage collections start at £1500…but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).
And, depending of course when you’re reading this, but, as a wee New Year pressie from me, book with me before 15th January and I’ll take an extra 10% off the usual package cost … just like that :-).
Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).
Mike :-).
