First wedding of the year today and then it’s pretty much non-stop until December; no complaints though as that’s the way I like it! And who would know it; here we are at the start of Spring and the weather’s acting as though it’s the middle of Summer, though I hear snow is on the way…typical.

The Inchyra Grange Hotel was the venue for today’s wedding with Stephanie & Nathan. We did their pre-wedding shoot a few weeks ago and I don’t mind telling you it was absolutely freezing that day, so to have had some warm sunshine today was a godsend – I even ended up with the customary minor sunburn on my head (if you look at my bio pic you’ll understand why).

And what a great day it’s been today. They say a picture’s worth a thousand words so, rather than write a thousand words, here’s a selection of my favourite pictures from the day. The full set, as usual, can be found in the online gallery (password required).

Just as an aside, I’ve read a debate on one of the wedding forums this week about the merits of paying extra for your photographer to stay on until the first dance. Well, for me, if I’m designing an album, it doesn’t really look complete unless it ends with first dance images, and I do hope you like the ones I’ve included below. But there’s more to it than that, staying on into the evening also allows for some more images prior to the first dance, whether they be some more “late afternoon” bride & groom images (which make use of the fantastic light at this time of day), or just more “candids” of the bride & groom with their guests. Had I left early today, I would not have captured the great images of the flower girls charging around the dance floor, which I absolutely love.
