“Isle of Bute” Wedding : Aiyesha & Lewis

I guess there’s no greater endorsement that you’re doing something right than when you keep getting asked to shoot weddings from the same family group and their friends. It all started back in 2014 with Kirsty & Bryan’s wedding at Ingliston Country Club and, since then, I’ve lost track of the number of weddings I’ve shot from the same “crowd” and, for the latest one, I was over on the beautiful Isle of Bute back in August for Aiyesha & Lewis’ big day!

Island weddings for me usually mean a weekend stay, as I won’t take a chance with ferries being cancelled or stuff like that, so over I went on the Friday afternoon to start getting prepared – always great to stay at the Ardyne Guest House too (my third visit) – thank you guys for the fabulous hospitality as usual.

But what about the day itself then? Well, it’s strange but looking back at the pictures, it looked like we crammed a lot in with lots of different locations, but yet the day felt so relaxed and chilled out, which is the best way right? As usual, I kicked off with bridal prep (and a bit of groom prep too) at the Boat Suites in Rothesay before heading up to the United Church of Bute for the ceremony. This was followed by a stop off at Ardencraig Gardens for some group/family/couple shots en route to probably one of the more unusual, but fabulous, reception venues I’ve shot at, the Rockabilly Diner – and what a bonus to have a beach across the road to round off the couple shots while “playing” with some smoke bombs!!!

And lest we forget of course the evening entertainment provided by Amy LaQueefa – what a way to end the day!

Honestly, this is one wedding where the pictures really do tell the story of the day much better than words …

Aiyesha & Lewis, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous wedding day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.

Please do leave a comment though … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

On with the pictures …

Need A Ninja?

If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!

My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!

Not sure if this is for you? Why not check this out for more details!

I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for 2024 too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
