More adventures in blogland today guys as I’m taking you back to the end of July when, fresh from my first taste of cruising (highly recommended btw), I was back again for the second time this summer at the wonderful Seamill Hydro for Julie & Tom’s big day :-). And, I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, give me a beach (especially on the west coast), and I’m in my element LOL.
As usual, I adopted my relatively low-key, primarily documentary approach to shooting the day – this is very much how I roll these days – it’s very rare that I’ll intervene in any shape or form until well after the ceremony, and even then it’ll be only for a handful of group shots and the shortest of couple shoots (if you even want them); if I take any more than fifteen minutes of your time then I put myself in the bad books LOL.
Of course, I’m always up for an after dinner shoot though (again, if you want one) – after all, who wouldn’t want to take advantage of having a beach on the doorstep :-). Intricate posing definitely isn’t my thing though (it used to be, years ago, but times change), so I just popped in a light here and there and let the guys run with it, do their own thing etc etc. Again, another fifteen and done!
The guys were kind enough to say a few words about the day …
“I knew as soon as I seen Mike’s photography style that he had to be the photographer at our wedding. The photos were better than expected and he captured our day beautifully. He was really professional and made the experience really fun and enjoyable.”
Julie & Tom, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your fabulous wedding day! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like. But please do let me know what you think – there’s a space for comments below the pictures :-).
On with the pictures …

Need A Ninja?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
Not sure if this is for you? Why not check this out for more details!
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for 2024 too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
