Just over a month ago, I was back once again at one of my favourite venues, the fabulous Sherbrooke Castle, this time around to shoot Lucy & Daniel’s big day and, yes I know I say this about most weddings I shoot but, what an amazing day it was!!! Of course, the reason they’re all amazing is that I am very lucky to be able to work with “the” very best couples, no lie!
Blessed with gorgeous warm “wall to wall” sunshine then, I shot the day in my usual “fly on the wall” documentary approach, breaking away briefly for a few group shots and a quick couple shoot around the grounds of the venue … all super quick and chilled out as usual to let the guys get back to the party as soon as … the important stuff right!
Such a brilliant day, filled with plenty of laughter and emotion – some of the latter even getting to me a bit too at times … it still hits home despite having shot nearly 600 weddings now … that’s why I love shooting “real” moments so much!
As usual though, the pictures tell the story way better than any old waffle from me. But, before that though, here’s a few words that I recently received from the guys about their day:
“We had the best day from start to finish, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather, especially after torrential rain the day before! Our step count was definitely above 20k by the end of the ceilidh – we were too busy dancing to even have any cake!
Mike’s candid photography style was perfect as we could focus more on enjoying our special day.”
Lucy & Daniel, it was great to be with you all on your amazing day shooting your wedding photography at Sherbrooke Castle and thank you very much for choosing me! Here’s a few of my own favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Please feel free to leave a comment if you like … it’s very much appreciated 🙂 – there’s a comment box right at the end of the pics!

Looking for Sherbrooke Castle Wedding Photography … or anywhere for that matter?
If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast! Find out more here about the way I work.
World Top 10 Photographer
For the past four years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands. And, in 2024, I was very honoured to be ranked as one of the Top 10 Photographers in the World in their Artistic Guild category … thank you guys!
I’m now taking bookings for 2027 & 2028 but, these days, I do only shoot around 20 weddings per year so dates can be very limited especially during the summer months. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
