It’s only been a few weeks since I was down in the Borders, Stow to be exact, to shoot Leah & George’s big day. But, so keen am I to share this fabulous day with you good people, that I’ve cleared the decks to bring it to you here on the blog today :-). And, of course, I hope you like!
Most of you who’ve followed me for a while now will know that my shooting style on the day is very candid, very documentary, very photojournalistic and that absolutely suited the type of wedding day that the guys had put together. Aside from the ceremony at the local church, St. Mary of Wedale, the whole day took place on the farm grounds and with a main teepee as the focal point, many smaller tents for the guests and, with tons of other activities scattered around the site, the day took on a bit of a festival vibe, allowing me just to wander around and capture what I saw … and trust me, there was plenty to capture!
That all said, we did get away from the crowds for a short time, driving around the farm with a stop off here and there for shots with some of the animals … not something I get to do most weekends I must say! Even though I do shoot the day in a candid style, I still think it’s a great idea to take some “couple time” away on your own where we can get a few shots of you guys on your own – of course, how much you want to do is up to you – it is your day after all.
Anyway, enough waffle from me … as always, the pictures will tell the story of the day better than I can …

If you’re getting married (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short couple shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
For the past two years, I’ve been recognised by the WPJA as Scotland’s top ranked wedding photojournalist, so you know you’re in safe hands :-).
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2025 & 2026 but do still have some limited availability for this year too … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times. So do get in touch asap guys to check my availability.
