My first wedding of the year…and, as it stands, my first of 39 this year, although strangely, I’m still getting enquiries for weddings this year – is everyone leaving it later in the day to plan their wedding these days? Of course, I know in Rheannon & Derek’s case that was the very thing…can’t recall how many weeks but I know it wasn’t many…just a couple of months or thereabouts I think…I know I myself only took the booking in December so we had a quick meet up the week before the wedding and then the big day was here before you knew it.
I kicked off at the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry where the bridal prep was taking place before heading up to the very secluded Abercorn Church for the ceremony, and boy was it chilly waiting outside for the bridal party to arrive…I never want to wait inside just in case I miss the arrival and, I choose not to wear a coat or jacket (just find it a bit restricting when trying to wield two cameras around at speed), so guess that’s just the price I pay :-).
Post ceremony, there was just a hint of what was to come later on as a few flurries of snow started to fall, but boy, by the time we had arrived at Glenskirlie, those few flurries had turned into an absolute snowstorm, or thereabouts! Great for pictures though and, despite the continuing snowfall and freezing conditions, I managed to get the guys outside for a few quick shots :-).
