Campbeltown Wedding Photography:
Eilidh & Greg at The Putechan Hotel

OK folks, well, today I’m absolutely delighted to be sharing some images from Eilidh & Greg’s wedding in Campbeltown from a few weeks ago, and yes, I did say Campbeltown which, for me, counts as a “destination wedding” :-). So much so, that it required an overnight stay the night before just to make sure that there are no hiccups along the way were I to make the journey (all three and a half hours of it) on the morning of the wedding day. So, with no chances being taken, I made the long drive to Campbeltown the afternoon before although, let’s be honest, with the scenery that we have in this area (and not forgetting Loch Lomond and Loch Fyne along the way), on such a glorious day it’s really not a hardship – if only the wedding day were like this I thought as I drove and, you know what, it was!!!

Having left my very nice hotel for the stay (the Craigard House – thanks guys, would definitely stay again), I made the very short trip to Eilidh’s mum’s house to kick off the day with a few detail and getting ready shots before another short journey (nothing’s very far away here is it) to Lorne & Lowland Church to meet up with Greg and the guys for a few shots before back to the house again for likewise with the girls, and then back to the church again to get ready for the ceremony – pre-ceremony is always the most hectic part of the day for me, especially as I work on my own, so it’s always great to follow this with the relative calm of the ceremony (usually) before we kick into overdrive again.

Eilidh had suggested Newport Beach for some shots en route to the hotel from the church and, naturally, I had to be guided here not knowing the area myself. But hey, wedding shots on the beach are just too good to turn down so, whatever the beach was going to be like, I was up for the challenge. As it happens, the beach was fantastic anyway and, of course, with the blue skies and all that, made for some great shots – who needs destination weddings!!! Well, OK, ask me again the next time it’s raining and I might say differently :-(.

The day for me finished off at The Putechan Hotel with the reception and dancing before I left everyone to party on into the night, albeit they may have finished up for the night before me I thought to myself arriving home at one thirty in the morning. As much as the journey down was enjoyable, the same cannot be said for the return trip – three and a half hours driving in pitch black conditions through winding single track unlit roads – me thinks next time I do a wedding here I’ll be staying the night of the wedding as well – lesson learned!!!

Eilidh & Greg, a big thank you for asking me to shoot your big day. I absolutely loved being a part of what was an incredibly enjoyable event and I hope you like the images – here’s just a few of my own faves below.
