Every year, I always take a few weeks off at the start of July, sometimes to get away, sometimes not, but everyone needs a break, especially once the busy wedding season kicks in from March/April onwards and it’s pretty much full on from then till the end of the year! So then, with that on the horizon, Alison & Paul’s big day at Cornhill in late June was to be my last wedding before, to use a footballing term, my “mid-season break” … and what a way to sign off!
Cornhill Castle is fast becoming one of my “go to” venues, having shot more weddings here in the last couple of years than anywhere else, and with the venue being such a fabulous place to work in beautiful surroundings, well, of course, the more the better!
So what of the day itself? You know, it’s a funny thing, when you shoot a lot of weddings over a lot of years, you do often forget all the little moments and intricacies that happen on the day. So, looking back at the pictures from a few months ago while selecting which ones to use for the blog, it just brings it all back again … but I guess that’s what pictures are meant to do aren’t they … to fill in those blanks that your memory erases :-). But hey guys, honestly, what an amazing day … enough waffle from me, just look at these pictures …
Alison & Paul, thank you very much for choosing me to shoot your amazing wedding day! Here’s a few of my favourite shots which I hope you all like.
Looking for “Documentary” Wedding Photography?
If you’re on the look-out for a wedding photographer (or know someone who is), then you may just like my “ninja style” (a couple’s words, not mine) low key approach to the day! Most couples tell me they didn’t even notice me for the majority of the day and that suits me … it is your wedding day after all, not a photo-shoot!
My style is very unposed, unfussy and focuses more on documenting your day rather than directing it. Minimal group shots (or even none at all if you prefer) and short bride & groom shoots allow you spend more of the day with the people that matter and have a total blast!
I’m mainly taking bookings now for 2023 and 2024 … but I do now only shoot one wedding per weekend so dates can be very limited during peak times.
Full day coverage collections start at £1800 … but don’t forget my cheeky wee discount where you can save up to £500 :-).
Oh, and please do feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the page, as I do really love to know what you think :-).
Mike :-).
